Spring is finally here! Although we didn’t have to wait as long here in Florida, we were still dreaming of pool days in January just like the rest of the country. So, we are equally as excited to officially bring out the spring fashion and say goodbye to everything winter-related. I’m even more thrilled for spring this year because the fashion is on point.
There are so many adorable spring trends emerging, and I couldn’t wait to start adding them to my wardrobe. If you haven’t had the chance to do a little spring shopping just yet, it’s a good idea to keep in mind what some of the biggest trends are as you look through the racks at your favorite stores. What’s trending for spring, you might ask? Keep reading and I’ll let you in on a few little secrets!
1. Ballerina Shoes
If you were jonesing for some new spring/summer sandals, have I got the style for you! As soon as I saw a variety of styles on Lyst, I knew these shoes would be a hit. A feminine update on last year’s gladiator sandals, the footwear you’ll see all season long is a mix between ballerina lace-ups and gladiators. They elongate your legs in ways you didn’t think were possible, especially with the heeled versions!
2. Flowy Sleeves
As far as tops go this season, it’s all about the romantic, billowy sleeves. Styles shown on WhoWhatWear remind me of the ‘70s peasant blouses but with a modern twist. With all the retro cuts and burnout florals in the mix this spring, it’s sure to be a familiar fashion scene. Sure makes you wish you didn’t get rid of all those old clothes, huh?!
3. Bare Shoulders
A plethora of shirts and dresses with either the shoulders cut out or off-the-shoulder styles were seen on the runways for this season. HuffingtonPost is displaying a beautiful, flowing Rebecca Minkoff number. I love this bare shoulder trend because it is season appropriate and very flirty! It’s a new and classy way to show a little skin while keeping the mystery intact.
There is no shortage of ‘70s-inspired gear this spring, and that was made particularly evident when I noticed all the tie-dye. What was once reserved for hippies is now a major fashion statement, which I think many people will welcome with open arms for fun beach days. The pattern comes in all forms this year; you can see it in all its glory at E!.
